Lucia & John

Florence Griswold Museum, Old Lyme CT

Lucia & John chose the beautiful Florence Griswold Museum as the perfect setting for both their ceremony and reception, making full use of the historic property and its breathtaking surroundings.

Their First Look took place inside the original Florence Griswold home, where stepping through the doors felt like traveling back in time—surrounded by historic paintings, treasured artifacts, and original furnishings that added a timeless charm to the moment.

Guests gathered for an outdoor ceremony along the water’s edge of the scenic Connecticut River, creating a peaceful and romantic backdrop. The celebration continued beneath a classic sailcloth tent beside the museum, where the reception felt both elegant and inviting.

Florals were abundant throughout the day, designed to feel like a lush English garden—colorful, aromatic, and delightfully wispy. Festive paper lanterns floated above the dance floor, adding warmth and personality to the evening celebration.

During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed a celebratory champagne tower—one of Lucia & John’s special requests—and it quickly became a highlight of the festivities. Dinner featured an unforgettable New England experience, complete with whole lobsters, followed by an elegant four-tier wedding cake crafted by a talented local baker.

It was truly a magical wedding day filled with beauty, personality, and unforgettable moments.
